This game app was a re-purpose of some of the work done in the prototype stages for mActive. The idea for the game was developed after gathering the various input and suggestions from selected target users (both male and female aged between 18 - 40 year old) within the company and analyzing other competitors that are in the market. We discovered that, there were many step tracking app with various functions and purposes in the market but only a handful were game driven and all of the fitness games that were in the market were targeted at fitness junkies or people who enjoy working out.

We found a unique opportunity to create a game that will appeal to casual gamers and help kick start their work out habits.
Character concept and customization sketches
monster animation work done for the internal project pitch.
Early screen prototype for the game.
Players each control a monster that roams around a virtually generated world. The monster is powered by steps collected by the user. Items and locations within the virtually generated world will provide customization options to the player's characters (e.g. adopt a pet log, bathe in a color pond or consume a fruit to change the monster's skin, examining carcass to unlock horns) . During one of the subsequent brainstorming sessions there were suggestions about adding player vs player combat or territory control into the game to introduce some more interaction between players.
Unfortunately due to news of the company's retrenchment the project was not developed beyond early proof of concept prototype and this is the video of the proof of concept prototype developed over a 2 month sprint showcasing map exploration and player vs non playable character combat made using some free assets from unity.
